He Poutama Rangatahi Fund to support education and employment pathway
Minister for Social Development, Hon Carmel Sepuloni today announced the Rangatahi Tumanako program will receive funding from the He Poutama Rangatahi Fund.
The Rangatahi Tumanako group is a prosocial support and mentoring program for young people who have offended. Along with a broad range of pastoral care the program also supports participants to set goals and achieve through community sport and events.
This new funding sits alongside the longstanding philanthropic support of Te Rangatahi Tumanako Trust.
The $359k will provide funding for programme practitioners (1.5 FTE) to deliver the work over two years.
The fund was initiated in the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment and is now managed by the Ministry of Social Development.
